Exciting news about our Susan G Komen Grant

What an exciting couple of weeks it has been for the Jennie Edmundson Foundation and the Breast Health Center!

Thanks to our partnership with the Susan G. Komen Iowa Affiliate we are able to continue reaching out to educate women about the importance of early detection and yearly mammograms not only in Pottawattamie County, but also Mills, Cass, Adams, Adair and Audubon.  We are very proud to have been chosen by the Iowa Affiliate to work side by side to improving access to breast health services for all women in Iowa.  We will also work hard to enhance the education and awareness of disease prevention to help at-risk populations as well as improving all areas within the continuum of breast cancer care, including diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.

We have a full agenda of items to implement and welcome anyone who would like to walk this journey with us and participate in screenings, educational seminars, pink-out activities, etc…  Simply contact me at 712-396-6040 or tara.slevin@nmhs.org.

Stay tuned!

Celebrating our success!

On April 16th the Jennie Edmundson Auxiliary came together to celebrate the over 35,000 hours of compassionate service provided within the last year! The room was bursting with energy as we renewed old friendships and embraced new ones.

With over 150 volunteers in the room there was a LOT to celebrate! We awarded 4 teen volunteers with scholarships, recognized the over $145,000 raised through their gift shop sales, Spirit of Courage and Marathon as well as the impact of the tens of thousands of interaction made.

The Difference is our People and we are grateful so many amazing men and women chose Jennie Edmundson Hospital to share their time, talents and resources!
